Hi, I'm Shingi.
Born in Zimbabwe, raised between London and Copenhagen. Married, father to an eight-year-old son, and currently building an AI empire from my living room.
I spent 20+ years in finance — started in tech during the dot-com years, got pulled into risk management, and became one of Europe's go-to FRTB specialists. Now, with the AI agent boom, I'm coming full circle back to building technology.

The Short Version
I grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 2000, fresh out of school, I started building websites during the dot-com era — back when the internet felt like anything was possible.
Then I moved to London and fell into finance. What started as a Java developer role at Morgan Stanley turned into a 20-year career in market risk management. I worked my way through Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Nordea, HSBC, and Barclays — eventually becoming a Director-level FRTB specialist.
Along the way, my family and I spent six years in Copenhagen, Denmark. Some of my favourite years — both professionally and personally.
In 2025, I made the call. The AI agent revolution was happening, and I realised I'd been managing risk for systems I didn't build. I wanted to build them. So I left banking and started what I half-jokingly call “the Shin Empire” — 11+ products, 7 AI agent types, and a one-person operation that ships like a team of 50.
The risk management background isn't a departure — it's the foundation. The same thinking that governs a bank's trading book now governs my AI agents. Because autonomy without guardrails isn't innovation — it's negligence.
The Journey So Far
Zimbabwe → London → Copenhagen → London
Africa Online
Started in tech during the dot-com years. Building websites in Harare, Zimbabwe — where the internet felt like magic.
Morgan Stanley
Moved to London. Started as a Java developer, ended up in risk management. The markets pulled me in.
Credit Suisse
Deeper into market risk. Learning how banks really work from the inside.
GLG Partners (Man GLG)
A stint in the hedge fund world. Different pace, different risk appetite.
Credit Suisse (NMRF Lead)
Back to Credit Suisse to lead Non-Modellable Risk Factors. FRTB was becoming my thing.
Deutsche Bank
FRTB subject matter expert. At this point, I was one of the go-to people in Europe for this stuff.
Nordea, Copenhagen
Moved to Denmark with the family. Six years, three roles — FRTB Chief, CPM, then back to FRTB Lead. Some of my best years.
HSBC, then Barclays
Back to London. Director of Market Risk FRTB at Barclays. The peak of the banking career.
THE PIVOT
Left banking. Started building. No regrets.
The Shin Empire
11+ products. 7 AI agent types. 266+ missions. One person building like a team of 50.
I spent 15 years building risk systems that catch failures before they cascade. Now I apply that same thinking to AI agent governance — because autonomy without guardrails isn't innovation, it's negligence.
